Biosecurity

Who Has Access to Your Sequencing Data?

As genomic data becomes increasingly important, organizations are paying closer attention to how sequencing providers manage security, access controls, data retention, and operational risk.

At SeqCenter, biosecurity is built into every stage of our sequencing process. From sample receipt through final data delivery, our laboratory, computational infrastructure, and quality systems are designed to protect customer data while delivering reliable sequencing results.

Biosecurity Starts With Choosing the Right Sequencing Partner.

Explore SeqCenter’s U.S.-based sequencing services and discover how responsible data stewardship is integrated into every project.

Security Without Compromising Speed

Research organizations should not have to choose between fast turnaround times and responsible data practices.

SeqCenter combines high-quality sequencing, responsive scientific support, secure data handling, and transparent operational controls. Whether you are evaluating sequencing providers due to evolving biosecurity requirements or simply want a trusted U.S.-based partner, SeqCenter is committed to protecting your samples, your data, and your confidence in every project.

Secure Data Delivery

Customer data is delivered through secure, authenticated transfer methods.

SeqCenter operates an on-site Globus endpoint protected by managed network infrastructure and encrypted transfer protocols. We also support delivery to customer-designated cloud environments, including AWS S3, Google Cloud Storage, OneDrive, SharePoint, Dropbox, and Box. Transfers are performed only to authorized destinations specified by the customer.

Built on Quality and Accountability

Biosecurity depends on more than technology. It depends on people, processes, and accountability.

SeqCenter maintains documented operating procedures, structured training programs, equipment maintenance schedules, incident reporting processes, and ongoing quality oversight. Personnel are trained on data security, confidentiality, operational procedures, and ethical conduct to support reliable execution across all sequencing workflows.

We also maintain procedures for identifying, documenting, reviewing, and addressing operational issues. This culture of accountability supports both data integrity and customer trust.

Security Throughout the Sequencing Workflow

Every sample follows a documented and traceable workflow.

SeqCenter maintains systems that support:

  • Chain-of-custody tracking from sample receipt through project completion
  • Controlled documentation with version history and user attribution
  • Quality control checkpoints throughout laboratory and bioinformatics workflows
  • Role-based access controls for personnel and data systems
  • Backup and recovery procedures designed to maintain data availability

Our goal is to provide customers with confidence that their data is handled consistently, securely, and responsibly.

A U.S.-Based Sequencing Partner

Choosing a sequencing provider is about more than turnaround time and cost. It is also about understanding where your data goes, who has access to it, and how it is protected.

SeqCenter operates its sequencing, computational, and data delivery infrastructure in the United States. We provide fast turnaround times while maintaining strong data stewardship and operational transparency.

Our approach includes:

  • U.S.-based operations
  • Secure handling of customer data
  • Controlled system access
  • Traceable sample management
  • Routine cybersecurity oversight
  • Comprehensive quality controls

These practices help ensure that your data remains protected throughout its lifecycle.
